ISLAMABAD: The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) held discussions with a World Bank delegation on key reforms aimed at simplifying regulations and making interaction between businesses and government institutions more efficient.
According to a statement issued by SIFC, the meeting focused on the Asaan Karobar Framework, Regulatory Registry and Pakistan Business Portal, which are being developed to streamline regulatory procedures, improve institutional coordination and reduce the compliance burden on businesses.
The Asaan Karobar Framework is designed to provide a structured mechanism for simplifying business-related regulations and improving the overall business environment in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the Regulatory Registry aims to make regulatory requirements clearer and more accessible for businesses, helping them better understand the rules and procedures applicable to their operations.
The Pakistan Business Portal is intended to provide businesses with a more coordinated and accessible platform for engaging with relevant government institutions and accessing facilitation services.
During the meeting, SIFC also highlighted its whole-of-government approach to business and investment facilitation. The approach brings together federal, provincial and sector-specific stakeholders to ensure better coordination and implementation of regulatory reforms.
Engagement with provincial governments was also highlighted as an important part of the initiative, with efforts focused on ensuring that business facilitation reforms are implemented through broader institutional coordination.
The World Bank delegation appreciated SIFC’s inclusive approach, particularly its engagement with provincial governments, and acknowledged the importance of coordinated efforts to improve Pakistan’s regulatory and business environment.
The World Bank also assured continued support for initiatives focused on strengthening business facilitation and advancing regulatory reforms.
The initiatives are expected to support entrepreneurship, investment and sustainable private-sector-led economic activity in Pakistan.
