Hearts United: Turkish Envoy Joins Alkhidmat Mission
LAHORE: The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, formally joined Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan as a registered volunteer during a recent visit to the organization’s national headquarters in Lahore — a symbolic move reflecting his dedication to future collaborative humanitarian initiatives.
Dr. Neziroglu was warmly received by Alkhidmat Foundation President Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman, along with Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, Vice Presidents Muhammad Abdus Shakoor, Syed Ihsanullah Waqas, Dr. Mushtaq Mangat, and other key officials.
During his visit, the ambassador was given an in-depth tour of the Alkhidmat Complex and briefed on the foundation’s extensive relief and development work across Pakistan and internationally — including emergency aid, development initiatives, and volunteer-driven social programs.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman underscored the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and Turkiye. “Our nations have always stood by each other during crises. Collaborations with Turkish humanitarian organizations bring us great pride,” he noted.
Ambassador Neziroglu praised the foundation’s efforts, calling their work “inspirational,” and highlighted the enduring cultural and emotional bonds between the two nations. “Our flags may differ, but our hearts are united,” he said. He expressed a keen interest in expanding joint ventures in areas like youth development and community service.
The ambassador also extended sincere appreciation for Alkhidmat’s swift and dedicated response during the recent earthquake in Turkiye, acknowledging their valuable support during the crisis.
The visit concluded with a ceremonial exchange of gifts, where Dr. Hafeez ur Rehman presented the ambassador with a commemorative shield, a miniature of Minar-e-Pakistan, and traditional Pakistani items — a shawl and cap — symbolizing the lasting bond between Pakistan and Turkiye.
