Madinah Unveils Lifesaving Dialysis Hub for Pilgrims
Madinah Launches Specialized Dialysis Unit to Support Pilgrims with Kidney Conditions
MADINAH: The Madinah Health Cluster has introduced a specialized dialysis unit at the King Fahad Kidney Center (KFKC) to cater to pilgrims suffering from kidney-related illnesses.
The initiative is designed to offer top-tier medical services that align with pilgrims’ schedules and movements, ensuring timely and convenient access to vital treatments.
This development is part of the Kingdom’s broader commitment to enhancing healthcare services for pilgrims, enabling them to fulfill their religious obligations in good health and comfort.
The newly established unit is outfitted with cutting-edge medical equipment, including 13 state-of-the-art dialysis machines capable of delivering over 26 dialysis sessions daily. A team of highly trained medical professionals is on hand to uphold the highest standards of care, safety, and efficiency.
To streamline services, the Health Cluster coordinated with medical missions accompanying various Hajj delegations. Through the advance submission of pilgrims’ medical records, dialysis sessions can be scheduled promptly upon arrival in Madinah, significantly reducing wait times and easing transportation demands.
Additionally, the Saudi Presidency for Religious Affairs has introduced the second edition of the ‘Manarat Al-Haramain Robot’ at the Grand Mosque. This AI-powered robot enhances the spiritual experience for pilgrims by providing instant religious guidance, including video calls with muftis to address complex religious questions.
The annual Hajj pilgrimage is expected to take place in June this year. While the official number of pilgrims for Hajj 2025 has yet to be finalized, early estimates suggest participation could exceed 2.5 million, potentially setting a new record.
