Zalmi Smash Sultans in Record Victory by 120 Runs in Historic PSL 2025 Victory

In a stunning turnaround, Peshawar Zalmi made history in the Pakistan Super League 2025, securing their first win of the season with a record-breaking 120-run victory over Multan Sultans at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Despite early setbacks, Zalmi’s middle order delivered in style. Tom Kohler-Cadmore set the foundation with a solid 52, followed by a blistering 45 from Mohammad Haris. However, the true game-changer was Abdul Samad, who lit up the stadium with an electrifying 40 off just 14 balls, featuring four massive sixes. Zalmi posted a mammoth total of 227-7 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Multan Sultans faltered under pressure and were bundled out for a mere 107 runs. Their batting collapse was orchestrated by two rising bowling stars — Ali Raza, who took 4 wickets for 21 runs, and Ariq Yaqoob, who bagged 3 wickets for just 20 runs. The duo’s precision and aggression left no room for a Sultans comeback.

Abdul Samad was deservedly named Player of the Match for his explosive and momentum-shifting innings, which played a crucial role in the team’s dominant performance.

This emphatic win not only boosts Zalmi’s confidence but also lifts them to fifth place on the points table. In contrast, Multan Sultans continue their disappointing run, remaining winless in the tournament so far.

With this historic win, Peshawar Zalmi have sent a strong message to other teams and reignited their hopes for a playoff push in PSL 2025.
